Gua Sha is one of the oldest forms of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It۪s a technique that was used in ancient times when somebody fell sick. Hands or stones were used to rub different parts of the body to promote healing. In the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), gua sha was systematically written into medical records. Gua Sha translates into scraping sand. This refers to the red petechiae that can sometimes be seen after a treatment.
Currently very popular for facial treatments, adding gua sha to your routine is a wonderful and relaxing way to decrease facial tension and help relieve puffiness, leaving a more radiant complexion. Both our Classic Skin Elixir and Squalane oil are perfect for gua sha.
